I visited Plattsburgh, NY this weekend and did a little shopping around. I was a little shocked to see that there was little or even no selection in the grocery stores and even Walmart for peanut free products.  What was even more surprising is that the ingredient labels does not mark any guarantee that the food is peanut free. We have similar products up here in Canada of course, but I guess our FDA has more restrictions for our food on the market. Most of my customers that have bought items in the peanut free store are from the US and now I can understand why!

Peanut Free products in Canada have become more and more popular. The number of people and most importantly children allergic to peanuts and nuts has grown within the past few years in Canada and in the US. I am still wondering why the US has not considered the peanut free products in the US. Luckily, the US has places online, in which they can purchase these specialized products and get them delivered to their doors.
