My Chocolate Cookie Dough Truffles
So I finally tried to make the peanut free cookie dough truffles from the recipe that I posted.
You can revisit the page to the Cookie Dough Truffle recipe.
My family gave me a thumbs up for these delicious and delightful truffles. Instead of Aero or Vadenbonceour chocolate for melting I used Hershey Peanut Free Chocolate. Only til very recently did they start making some of their chocolates peanut free and that also contain the Peanut Free symbol.
I haven’t had any luck in finding more of these chocolates in a regular size chocolate bar and once I do they should be available in the peanut free store as well. I had bought a big box of 70 mini Hershey chocolates. The new flavours that are peanut free by Hershey are Cookies’n Cream, Hershey Caramel and Hershey Milk Chocolate.
Now back to my experience on making the truffles; it was fairly easy to make except for one problem…trying to get the chocolate coating back to hard coating again. They were in the refrigerator for a couple of days and still they stayed as a soft and sticky chocolate truffle. Not exactly what I had in mind.
I have been searching around the internet and there are many different answers on how to harden the chocolate again and am not exactly sure which way to go. I would like to make these again for Christmas and other special events but am still looking to master the technique of hardening chocolate. If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them as this would be a great and easy peanut free chocolate truffle to make. And the best part is that everyone in the family loves them so everyone is happy including the ones that can’t eat nuts!
