Homemade Peanut Free Granola Bar Recipe

Description

This may be useful for those that are allergic to nuts or peanuts. Why not make your own granola bars. This way you are sure of what you have put in your recipe. There can't be a bigger guarantee of no nuts in your own recipe of peanut and nut free granola bars!

Ingredients

2CupRolled Oats
3⁄4CupBrown Sugar
1Pinchcinnamon
1CupAll Purpose Flour
3⁄4Cupraisins or semi-sweet chocolate chip ((or both))
1Pinchsalt
1⁄2Cuphoney
1 Egg (beaten)
1⁄2Cupvegetable oil
2Teaspoonvanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients such as the, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, raisins, and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Fold in the chocolate chips after all is mixed.  Mix well using your hands. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the bars begin to golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be too hard to cut.
