The original recipe actually has almonds in the recipe. I’m pretty sure if we were to change the almonds to oats or vanilla extract instead of almond extract we may not exactly get the same taste but we can get a pretty good tasting cookie! I will eventually try these cookies as I have to try all the recipes that I put on here as well.

Ingredients
4 ounces butter
4 ounces vegetable shortening
3/4 cup lightly-packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsulphured molasses*
1 large egg (for egg replacement please read here)
3 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon brown food coloring (optional)

WOW!!
It’s almost Christmas already!
This holiday is my favorite season. Over the years, being allergic to all these I have to say I have been pretty lucky. My family has been very understanding in terms of allergies and are extra careful when I’m around. In my own home for instance, there is obviously no peanut butter in the house. If someone does crave the peanut butter, they simply eat it out of the house at a Tim Hortons or some coffee shop.

I saw this recipe a while ago on the Food Network on the Paula`s Best Dishes Show.
I`m used to seeing many recipes being really good right up until they add the nuts! But there`s no worries to that since we can always try to alter the recipe.
