4 ounces butter
4 ounces vegetable shortening
3/4 cup lightly-packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsulphured molasses*
1 large egg (for egg replacement please read here)
3 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon brown food coloring (optional)

I have great plans in bringing awareness of peanut and nut allergies to Canada and the United States. As I went out shopping today I thought of a great idea for this holiday season. As Christmas is not that far away, with only a little more than a month, I came up with the idea of these peanut-free gift baskets. What a great gift idea!
